My son has a friend, who has cobweb tattoos on both ears and elbows... What exactly is this supposed to mean?

cobweb tattoos started off as jailhouse tattoos. each layer of the web is 1 yr in jail. now a days it could mean nothing. he justs wants to look tough or just thought the design looks cool. I wouldn't worry about it.

I heard it means that you killed someone (sorry for that but that's what i heard) I doubt that's the case with your son's friend.  He probably just needs/wants attention.

It means he is a dumba$$ and looks like every guy in prison. Those seem to be really popular with ex convicts. I don't know the meaning but (no offense) I have seen it so many times it's not that original anymore!

Traditionally, the spider webs on the elbows symbolize time spent in prison.  But people, typically the younger generation, also get it for looks.  It's pretty likely, he just likes the way it looks.  Or it could mean something completely different, but you'll never know for sure just by asking us.

it doesn't mean anything. tattoos are just another form of art. a lot of times there's a personal reason why people get certain tattoos, such as a loved one died so they tattoo the loved one's favorite instrument on their body, for example. he probably just thought it was a cool tattoo to have. It really depends on how thought out the tattoo was. I've known many people who just get a tattoo of something b/c they want a tattoo, and there's no meaning behind it.
