  1. My daughter has strabismus (her eyes cross) which is a precursor to a lazy eye.  Basically her eyes cross because she is farsighted and crosses her eyes to try to focus.  We just had her appointment after her having glasses for 6 months and the doctor increased her prescription as well.  I had the same question and ended up doing a bunch of research.  Basically, it is common for children's prescription to increase with farsightedness before it stabilizes and even decreases some.  I was also told by an optometry professor that but that the change was actually a good sign. It meant that the focusing system was starting to let up a bit…which is good.


  2. There is a theory that prism alone in glasses will "correct" lazy eye which is also called amblyopia.  I would HIGHLY suggest you visit this website.  Your son may or may not benefit from a vision therapy program.
