  1. One thing to do to help him have a great school year is to make sure your son knows how much you support him and that you understand he's trying his best despite his difficulties!  Sometimes kids need reminders that they're not disappointing the adults that they care about!

Try reading through a few of these:

    http://www.ldanatl.org/

(this one has links to a bunch of LD/school issues) http://www.kidsource.com/kidsource/pages...

    Good luck!

  2. Boy do I know where you are coming from. I have a 13 year old daughter with ADD and dyscalculia(difficulty learning math). She has been receiving learning support services at school since the second grade. In addition to being a mother of a learning disabled child I am also a paraprofessional. It is my job to assist target students in the classroom who struggle everyday.

The internet is a great tool for learning. I have found many sites over the years that have helped my daughter along the way. One site is www.timeforlearning.com  -

For a quarterly or annual fee you can have an online instruction program catered to your sons learning needs. It would be similar to having a tutor. The games are phenominal and very interactive. My daughter loves it! Another site is called www.iknowthat.com  -

It is free and you can select the educational games for his level.

I commend you for reaching out. You sound like a great parent who would do anything for their child. If I can ever be of assistance along the way, please don't hesitate to contact me via email. You can do that by visiting my profile on this site. Best of luck :0)

  3. Yes, http://www.time4learning.com is one of them. Google online schooling.
