  1. According to the CRB's own website (www.crb.gov.uk/Default.aspx?page=400#R) the standard check includes reprimands etc. There may be an argument for legal action if the reprimand is the reason he is turned down for the job or university place?

  2. Don't matter how much he ripped off, you say hes about to attend a unvi? duh thats a kids thing to steal.. It could possibly show up on his record. he did the crime he'll get the time..

Stealing is illegal period.. don't matter the price of what he took!

  3. EVERYONES WRONG

in the enhanced CRB yes reprimands DO COME UP

the exact purpose of enhanced CRB is to show everything you've done.

i dont think it'll prevent entry to university but will come up for any job he applys for in future requiring enhanced CRB.

the only way is to wait a 7/8 years before you can have a judical review and have it removed providing he stays out of trouble

  4. I had a reprimand at age of 16. i believe it goes when you are 18 and i am currently at university and i didnt mention it at all.

  5. As far as I am aware only actual convictions come up on a CRB check.  A reprimand will not effect his chances of getting into uni at all.

  6. Jack T is totally correct, it will show up on an enhanced CRB check.

  7. If it's only a reprimand, then I don't think it will show up on the CRB, or that it will stop him going to university.

  8. Something silly shown on a CRB check will not prevent you from getting a job with vulnerable people. Battering an old lady will. Offences against children will. the real problem comes when you have several reprimands and cautions and those will indicate that you are irresponsible. i know of one case in which a candidate was involved in a very nasty fight when he was in the Armed forces. it did not count

  9. no it won't as I think it is a childhood misdemeanour.
