My son has a small plastic thomas the train and i lost the direction so i dont know where to put the batteries

there are lots of screws and i opened them but it just takes the train apart. he has other ones and they all open differently, so to answer you have to have the toy

There is probably a compartment with a tiny cross head s***w  (a phillips) underneath somewhere
