  1. I've been using the web for about 5 years now and have not come across a p**n site. Obviously if I wanted to I could find some, but never by accident. How would the children find it at school with all the controls they should have?

  2. You may think of trying to purchase some monitoring/blocking software for your home PCs....

Just keep following up with the school.  Maybe even start an awareness program among the other parents...When more than one parent goes to the Head Master, then he will start to listen and take action!

  3. It is difficult to teachchildren these days.  The headmaster is probably doing the best he can.  Those computers were likely hacked by someone elses 9 yo.  Unless they are closely supervised then maybe the 9 yos should not be on the internet.

  4. Yeah that is ridiculous...Pick their *** til you know it's blocked!

  5. Your first priority is to protect your child, which means that you need to remove him from that school.

Take whatever actions you like afterward...call CPS, the police, the Education Dept...but first and foremost, protect your child.

  6. The p**n people get around barriers faster than anyone can create them.  There's so much money in it that they can't keep up.

I hope you don't come down too hard on the school official. . . he was probably told by some computer technician that the computers are secure and can't get to p**n, and so a so-called expert had given him the same information he gave you.  Then he did follow up on your complaint to see if the school was at fault after all, and told you that he was going to see what else they can do.  They're fixing it.

It's upsetting for sure, but it's also very easy to put the blame on the school for something that could happen to any of us.

  7. yea, best of luck on this one, but he's naturally curious so don't treat s*x issues as dirty and have the talk with him this is a perfect segway, how ever it came about talk to him about the bird and the bees and explain why you object to that site and don't make it out to be something real bad and you just say no don't ever go on there it's bad without the filler information for him to respect why you feel the way you do, because that will lead to more curiosity and he will try to find other ways to get on that site!!!  Best of luck again,

    Guy

It's not the school's fault, kids now a days have sneaky ways of getting around filters, not all schools systems have all the loopholes filled I should know I'm a teacher and kids have ways around them!!!! See it all the time then those kids loose all Internet and computer use privileges, sometimes they maybe suspended and maybe even expelled depending on the level of the offense!

  8. If I was you I would contact the Education dept. immediately about this.

  9. Its not an ideal situation.. all kids wil look at p**n at some stage.

Someone will always crack the school system for nannying the internet...& then the information is passed around.  So its vital that you respond by calling the school so they can deal with it.  So long as you are happy that they HAVE dealt with the situation appropriately, then keep your ear to the ground for more information from your son.

The school can only monitor so much.. & they do try.

  10. speak to head master again and other parents at the school see if any one elses kids have seen it. Also if you are unhappy with the schools response contact the education department. Have a talk with your son and see who at school showed him the site and talk to him about what he has seen.

  11. It is worrying but sadly some way or other the website has got through all the blocks put in place. All schools experience this I'm sure and the only way to make sure that your son is not looking at inappropiate material is to get the computer room supervised at all times, face all the screens in towards the middle of the room and sit an adult in the middle of the circle.

I'm sure that the school will address the problem properly but regarding your son, well in our day he'd just of been sitting in the bike sheds with a p**n mag! He's growing up and there's nothing you can do about that!

  12. p**n is hidden in all kinds of sites.  it doesn't have to have a nasty name to be a p**n site unfortunately.  My friends daughter went to school and had a friend tell her to type in her name plus .com and see what comes up.  So the daughter went home and my girlfriend called me frantic tellingme about what her daughter had found on her internet.  She has all kinds of stuff blocked on her computer.  What disturbs me most is what was a 9 year old doing on a computer in the school without proper supervision?  A teacher should have been present and monitoring what the students were viewing.  I honestly don't think the internet has any business in a classroom setting until they are out of elementary school.  They have no need for it.  If they need to research something for a report, they should be doing it with their parents at home.

  13. I would continue to contact the school until you know for sure that the website has been blocked. That is very disturbing! However, at least they were honest with you. Ask that your son not be able to use the school computers until the problem is completely solved. You could also bring this up to other parents and if enough people complain, they will have to do something about it!

  14. what was the site? was it an obvious p**n site or did it have an innocent name? It might of just skipped the radar when they were blocking the sites

  15. Im very sorry to hear about that I bet your so angry, My son is 9 and he does itc at school but they only use the super clubs website.

I would go to the goveners about this and also seek some sort of legal advise THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Dont take any rubbish from the head obviousley he is trying to cover his back it is far more easy to say a child is lying then deal with the situation in hand.

Also speak to your sons friends parents and see if their children have used this site, this way you may have some imformation to go back to the head with.

Also lodge a complaint to the lea then this would have to be taken seriously.

If it was me I wouldnt rest till I had answers.

  16. Maybe the Headmaster is using the p**n site in School and blaming the Children. Ask you 9yr old if he seen the Headmaster on the same site.

  17. oh my boyfriends nephew was 7 and did this. your situation isnt that weird. They arent doing it coz they want to look at p**n, they are too young for that. They are just curious and experimenting with things. i would punish him but dont go too hard on him.  he might grow up to hide things from you more and hide things that he has done rather than come to you with his concerns.
