he has appetite to eat but rather skeptic for he might get stomach pains and throw up again. doctor said no medicine is required but watch the food intake. so, no dairies etc.. he's 9 y.o., you just know when he's in pain, he cries. he runs to the toilet when he feels he's about to throw up. Does anybody know how to treat this with home remedy first aide mother instinct kind of thing? meaning the natural way or what not to eat or what to eat or ...is yogurt good??? i don't know.... need help and anwers please....

  1. Get a new Doctor or take him to the hospital

  2. Take him to ANOTHER doctor. He could have food poisoning!

  3. I'd see a different doctor...this is too long not to treat or look into the cause of.

  4. I know a boy who has a condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) which causes him to be allergic to everything. His symptoms started with throwing up. It's an incredibly rare condition, which is why your doctor may not have mentioned it as a possibility. I'd search it online so you can see if your son has any of the other symptoms, and ask your doctor about it. Best of luck.

  5. take him to the doctors as he could be dehydrating from vomiting and diarrhoea and may need to be on a drip to keep up his fluids.

  6. Yeah this just hit my house.  I had it once but not this time around.  (YET)

No greasy foods try things that are solid, bread to coat his stomach, and potatoes.

Make sure he is drinking alot of water.  no sugar drinks.

    Extra sleep and rest.

I had bad diarrhea with mine so I went and got Imodium at Walgreen's it worked like a charm! After I took it I was fine.

After he gets over the diarrhea have him sweat everything out. Extra covers at night his bed will be drenched but he should feel better.

I must say this is a good virus for losing weight. I had it for to miserable days and lost 7 pds.

Go to a different doctor my nieces and nephew and husband had it the longest of was 5 days. My husband was in pain and couldn't sleep because it was uncomfortable.

    Good luck sweetie

  7. take him back to the doctor he shouldn't be vomiting and diahoreha for 2 weeks its so unhealthy.. Take him to the hospital now..

  8. after reading all the info here i must add a few more ideas,

1- make sure he doesn't dehydrate(vomiting and diarrhea does that) 2- food allergy can be a cause but not suddenly after 9 years, 3- an intestinal virus needs medical care, 4- sometimes it is hepatitis, mono (Epstein Barr Virus) or even CMV (cyto megalo virus) all behave this way at the first stage needs blood tests to rule out which is it, 5- give him foods rich in salt to retain the water(salty cheese, fish or others that agree with his stomach and stay down), 6- reduce the diet to very basic foods and try to give one type at a time so you can select what is upsetting and what not.

All this after you spoke to another doc or even better an experienced RN

  9. ok first off no yogurt it is dairy, this will exacerbate the situation. Go with the gold standards ginger ale and saltines these are great once he can eat these without any problem then move on to some bread and peanut butter. The things you want to avoid are things with dairy or lots of sugar. If he has been throwing up for this long and the doctor did nothing then you need a new doctor. See if you can't get some rice in him try dirty rice, no butter. Also remember the most important thing is to keep him hydrated to whenever he is doing ok get him to drink water or pedialyte.

  10. Get your child to the ER and demand answers!! 2 weeks is too long for this stuff to have gone on!I cannot believe his doctor said NO medicine and only watch his food intake. My goodness,i feel to cry for this child!!

  11. It sounds like he might have gastro or an infection.

He should eat dry foods. Non acidic food or dairy.

    A site that might help

Also if it's hurting him badly enough to make him cry, you should see another doctor....just incase

    Hope he gets better :)

  12. i had that for 3 weeks. just got over it. it was salmonella.

  13. Get this child to the E.R.!!!!!  The child is very likely dehydrated, along with many other problems.  How long ago did the doctor say that????  Trust an E.R. doctor...They may well admit him!!!!

  14. Well, I agree that you should take him to another doctor - 2 weeks is too long for a child to be losing that much fluid and nutrients via vomiting and diarrhea.

However, if it is some sort of food poisoning and even some viral infections, activated charcoal could be the answer.

Activated charcoal is what emergency rooms use for many poisonings and overdoses. It absorbs many times it's weight and is simply amazing for food poisoning, many viral infections, nausea and diarrhea. You can get it a your local health food store - and get the powdered form, not the capsules.

Mix 2 TBsp into a glass of water and have him drink after every time he vomits or has diarrhea. Do this for 12-24 hours. If he's no better by then, stop the treatment - and, as always, don't neglect solid medical advice.

Btw, charcoal has no flavor, but it is a gritty texture so your son my whine about taking it, I know my kids did lol. But, it works. And, it can be a mess, it poofs like copier toner (grin), so be careful when you open it.

You can also get 1 lb of activated charcoal powder here:

    I've ordered herbs from them before - they're a good company :)

    Hope this helps!

  15. vomiting and watery bowel movements for two weeks???? your son must be dehydrated (being dehydrated is fatal)... go back to the hospital.

  16. grated apple helps w/ stomach problems

blackberries are supposed to be good (even blackberry jam)

rice, tea, and toast are mild foods that can usually be eaten and kept down. also try some jello.

yogurt is actually very good and the cultures will help ballance out the bad and good bacteria (more of the good, less of the bad) but I would try just a little at a time because I'm not sure how the dairy would react.

DEFINATLY try some black, green or herbal tea- a cup or two a day can really help and sooth him. you might not be able to use sugar w/ him getting sick. (my friend was sick and sugar was def an irritant) If honey is ok to use, maybe sweeten w/ that, but check w/ doc. Drink it straight, think of it as medicine, not "pop" lol.

I would definatly consider taking him to a different doc or to a hospital ER or Urgent Care if he doesn't seem to be getting better. Also, ask about the food allergies.

  17. My friend's son had the same thing. They found out it was giardia (parasite you can get from eating soil or untreated water or unhygienic conditions).

My other friend had a similar condition and found out it was amoebas but did not know where it came from (she eats out alot).

I suggest you see a doctor that specializes in foreign diseases or parasites.
