My three month old son has been very fussy, more than normal. He didn't sleep last night when he usually sleeps 9-10 hours. His right eye is slightly red but I don't know if that is from him crying. He has been crying as if he is in discomfort. he doesn't have gas. His temperature is normal. Should I call his doctor or is this normal for a three month old?

  1. well if you feel that you need to go to his dr then go that is what i always do. if your unsure about anything just call the drs and ask them thats what they are there for. he may be just teething (yes infants at this age can start teething) and if so give him a cool cloth or maybe put a pacifier in the freezer for him to chew on later. but still call his dr jsut to be sure k

  2. Since he doesn't have a fever, I'd guess that he's having a growth spurt or is teething.  Offer food more often and see if that helps.

If he does start to run a temp, or is very lethargic or isn't eating, call the doctor.

  3. Yes,I would call. It could be something underlying that is not visable from outside. I always call my DR if somthing seems unusual withmy Daughter.

  4. Well if youve done everything that you normally do and nothing works and you think there is something wrong with him then yes call the doc. I would call my mom and ask her if I didnt know then I would call my sons doctor.

  5. I THINK U SHOULD CALL THE DOCTOR IF U CANT FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG  CAUSE THE BABY CANT TELL U YET

  6. No fever?  No puking?  Same BM/wet diapers?  Eating well?

Yes to those, and then I wouldnt worry too much.  Watch that eye, dont want pink eye or a blocked tear duct.  Sometimes they just get fussy.

3 months could be a growth spurt also, is he still hungry after his bottles?

Also check him over head to toe make sure nothing funny, like a sliver, a bug bite, a hangnail...you'd be surprised!

I also have brought fussy kids to a chiropractor before, and you'd be amazed.  Mine does them as early as 1 month old. :)
