Last night my five year old was sitting with me in the chair for about an hour and I noticed a glob of white in his eye that i got out. Then ten minutes later I noticed it again and thought maybe I just didn't get it all out the first time, but when he woke up this morning his eyelashes had so much junk in them from the night. It was kinda green and dry and he has never had this happen before. He was running a fever through the night and has had a cough and runny nose. Could this still be pink eye? His eye is white, no pink or redness.

  1. Yes, it is pink eye. To be safe, visit a clinic or eye doctor. Get him some pink eye medicine and he will be all better!

  2. Bring him to the doctors. The eye doctor.

  3. Yes, Get Medicine. It's extremely contagious and can affect vision. I had it without the redness and had swelled corneas.

  4. It sounds very much like pink eye.

Pink eye can show up when you least expect it, and it is very contagious. There is more than one type of pink eye, and how you treat it depends on the type. If it is bacterial you need antibiotic ointment or drops. There is no particular treatment for viral pink eye. If it is an allergy that is causing your difficulty you may need anti-inflammatory medication or antihistamines. Frequent hand washing is crucial to prevent spreading the virus or bacteria, depending on which type you have.   There is also something called CLARE, or contact lens induced acute red eye. Sleeping in contacts makes the eye more susceptible to inflammation/infection.
