squirrels have long or short tails and they like nuts and they are good tree climbers and store their food for the winter like hide it in the ground, in their tree or in their den. To make a squirrel costume, find a sweatshirt and sweatpants in the color of the squirrel that answerer Christine G. described. Gray or brown would be the easiest colors to find.   Make a tail from felt in the same color as the sweats(purchase yardage from a fabric store or small pieces from a craft store).  Sew tail to pants.   Cut out ears (get a picture of a squirrel head to get the ear shape) from the felt and glue onto a headband covered with the same color felt.  Use a brown work glove to cover hands and brown shoes or use brown socks over tennis shoes.

You will have a hand-crafted outfit.
