My son is 15 do i have to add him to my insurance if he doesn't have a license?

someone told me that i have to add my son to my insurance policy even though he does not have a liscense. i live in washington state and i thought you didnt have to add him until he has a learners permit or a drivers liscense, any help with this question that would be great thank you

No you don't have to add him. Only if he is driving your car. A person would not get car insurance period unless they were driving. Who ever told you that does not know what they are talking about. Now if he does have a permit and is driving your vehicle then maybe..otherwise no.

no. but the moment he gets it they will make him. It's so expensive too if you are under 18!!! You don't need insurance for him if he has a learner's permit because he uses the 21 year old driver's insurance

You only add household DRIVERS to an insurance policy.
