  1. Right now at Rock Bottom Golf .com you can buy a new set of Hogan B-H 5's for  $199.00. I have owned these irons and they are very good in all aspects. And is a respected name.

  2. The most important aspect of buying clubs for a beginner is getting the club specifications right for his game and physical size.

Specs. like the club shaft length, flex, and grip size are all important if he is to get of to a good start.

I wrote an article all about choosing the correct golf clubs for the beginner over at HubPages, the link is below:

  3. I would say tour edge irons they are cheap and a a very good value

  4. What is your budget? There are complete sets that come with irons, woods, hybrids ect. for about $400 made by Wilson. Or you could get a deal on a set of irons, and buy a couple woods putter wedge and so forth. The Taylormade RAC irons are going for $400 on TGW.com which is a good deal. Also look into getting used clubs. You can get great clubs in decent shape and save tons. (golfsmith.com has a preowned section. Or try looking in the clearence section of websites like tgw.com or golfsmith.com. Hope i could help and goodluck.

  5. all depends on the budget, but cobra usually makes really good clubs that are middle of the pack in pricing

  6. nike or aculity

  7. Try Rangergolf.com they have complete sets of clones which would work well for a beginner.

  8. The most cost effective way is to buy the clubs as a set. d**k's Sporting goods and other sporting goods stores offer complete club sets starting at $200. This includes all the clubs you need and a bag. I suggest this until you are sure that he maintains his interest in the game. After that you can upgrade each type of club as you go so that you don't have to spend the money all at once again. Like a new driver for Christmas then a new putter for his birthday etc. Or you can go the individual route in which I suggest buying used clubs on Ebay. It is safe and cheap if you buy from established golf Ebay stores. The problem is at this point your son doesn't know what kind of club is best for him and he will figure this out as he plays so for now I would not invest too much money into clubs.
