  1. I wouldn't expect him to.

  2. Oh, thank goodness I am not the only one having the same issue.  My son is 3 1/2 and I've exhausted all patience I have to try and teach him.  I have showed him how to pedal and he just puts the breaks on.  We have been working on doing the whole bicycle exercise in the house with laying on our back and doing the pedalling motion.  I am going to reattempt this weekend.  Patience is the key and knowing when to stop because if your frusterated most likely so is your son.

  3. dont worry! my brother is 10 and he cant ride a bike, however he has learning difficulties........he'll catch on soon.

  4. Are you showing him by pushing each foot down on the pedal?

  5. yeah and i bet you cant drive

  6. pedaling bikes is a tricky thing to learn - my son didn't learn to ride a bike till he was 9!!  just let him practise lots, but don't worry if it takes a while - he'll get there in the end

  7. Be grateful that he is healthy and has 2 legs to pedal with, it will come to him in time.

  8. With or without stabilisers??

My son at 4 could ride with stabilisers but not without until he was 5

  9. Don't worry about it.

If he's really trying because he wants to ride the bike and just can't get the pedals going, then he probably needs more exercise to strengthen those legs.  It may be that he's just not all that interested.

It'll happen when it happens.  Kids develop different things at different times, and there's no cause for concern there.  My daughter is 4 and she's still struggling with the whole bike thing, too.

  10. Hi,

Not all children learn at the milestones set by others! All children develop at different ages!

I use to work with special needs children and one boy was 8 before he rode a bike with stablisers for the first time. It was a magical moment!

It will happen just don't rush him too much! He will do it!

  11. for goodness sake women he just learned how to walk lol

  12. I pushed my son's feet down (left and then right) while someone pushed the bike so he could get used to the feeling of how it worked. Just keep doing he will get it. Children do things at different paces.

Buy him a three wheeled scooter (they) also teach them balance and how to pedal.

  13. Get training wheels, and don't freak out about it. I know people who are my age and don't like bikes because their parents were always mad at them that they couldn't ride at first. So, be supportive of him, and let him learn on his own time.

  14. well i mean i learned when i was like 11 or ten so dont feel like your a bad parent but dont get me wrong nobody could teach me because they couldnt either and my dad was to tough on me that i came home one day with a huge purple bruise so dont feel bad that he hasnt learned . Just dont pressure him about it and h will learn on his own eventually with some help :) I hope he succeeds

  15. so lots of adults cant  some people never ever learn

  16. Try Stabilizers For A Couple Of Months In Your Backyard Then When He Thinks Hes Ready Let Him Try Without Them

    Hope That Helps

  17. my friend is 19 and still can't pedal a bike.

but thats becasue nobody ever encouraged her.

give it time, i didn't learn till i was nearly 6

  18. Stop worrying he IS only 4, I bet he cannot drive yet either? These things come.

  19. It's not a big problem. I learn to ride a bike when i was 10. He'll catch up

  20. Don't worry, if he is not on the bike alot, it will take a bit of time to get used to way he has to turn the pedals
