  1. im working at a daycare camp, even though i only do the morning shift. I know its a spanish school, but i do the english workshop with them, and we do have a sort of... list of things we are teaching them, such as public transport, numbers, colours, manners, sharing, family, food, etc.... If i see a child is far more advanced than the rest, then i dont give him any special attention, seing as there are a few who dont go past colours and numbers. I pay a litle more attention to that child, i.e making sure they are next to me, awnsering with everybody else... I have no idea what its like at other places, i have to say i also thought childcare was just that, childcare, but depends where you have your child. Like they said, if you pay the money, you get your moneysworth.

  2. Sounds like your a great parent and have the right concerns. Sometimes the Daycares will also let you shadow them for a day so you get a much better idea.

  3. Look for a daycare that actually teaches them. I've looked at a few daycares and their first thing was, we do not teach them, we give them simple activities through out the day.

BUT then I found an early education center/daycare, this was the best decision I think I ever made, my son has learned all at kindergarten level, and he is just starting kinder in Sept.

Just keep searching for those special daycares that do have lesson plans, this way, you get the care that you need and the child is learning.

  4. Daycares don't usually single out one child and make the plan of the day around him.  He is going to have to follow their curriculum.

  5. It depends on the daycare. Daycare the children basically play all day and are supervised when they play. A good daycare the children will learn the following:

    Numbers

    Letters/letters in name/recognize name/

    Shapes

    Color

How to share ( very important in DAYCARE)

How to write name( if you are lucky)

Calender? days of weeks, months  of the year etc

    Cutting/gluing/coloring/holding  a pencil/

    Follow directions

    Wait in line/wait turn

    Listen to a story

    Sing songs

    Put on a coat

    Learn a rountine

This is all if it is a good daycare.

  6. Your question is not really clear.  If you are asking if it's okay for you to ask questions of the daycare, then yes, by all means, it is totally acceptable.

  7. Well Then Do It......

  8. Usually daycares don't teach you anything! I HATE DAYCARES!!!!

  9. Maybe ask to sit in a class, thats would be best just to see what he would be dealing with and the behavior of the teachers!

Daycare is always a good learning expirience for your little one but sometimes theyre not treated as great as they should be which may cause them to "act out" later when its not their fault.

If you paying all that money they shouldnt mind, if they do maybe rethink that specific school!

  10. Well you can ask them if they teach him how to count, his abc, manners, religion, and color.... It just depends really on how much you are willing to pay for his daycare if your pay the best they will offer more and if you pay less then don't count on it to do so much
