  1. Put 1 Tablespoon of Karo DARK (not light) Corn syrup in his bottle at every feeding.  Shake it good.  My 5/6 month old son just went through this and that is what the doctor told us to do.  After a couple days he was fine.  Now when ever he gets constipated I just do it automatically and it doesn't take as long to kick in.  Plus it is not a medicine nor is it uncomfortable for him (hence vaseline and rectal thermometers).  Also try laying him on his back and bringing his knees to his chest a couple times it helps.

    Good luck!  Just be patient.

  2. my mothe use to put petroleum jelly up there. Others stick there hands up there.

  3. I have a baby on soy formula, constipation is a common result

of this.  Prune juice or apple juice will help,  a little bit of

mineral oil helps, and you can purchase infant suppositories

which provide a quicker relief.  Talk to your babies doctor

    first.

  4. get some prunes. Put one in boiled(still hot) water for an hour till cool. Mix in with the formula and give it once a day. If that does not work then add some of the prune (which will be swollen and soft now) in with some cereal. Also kiwi fruit skin is a natural laxative so puree a kiwi whole and give some too.

It is possible it is the formula. My son went on formula for a little while and was horrifically constipated. Once he was breastfeeding again it all stopped. Even now he gets constipated with milk

  5. Either prune juice..or go to the pharmacy for a stool softner.

  6. Hey, give him prune juice and water mixed in his bottle. That was the only thing that helped my baby. Good luck.

  7. Sounds gross but you should put a little petroleum jelly on the end of a rectal thermometer and put just the tip in his butt.  Move it very gently!  This will force him to use those muscles in his butt and make it easier for him to pass the hard stool.  You should also lift his knees to his tummy a few times to get the stool moving.  Take to his doctor about his diet.  Good luck daddy!

  8. I breast fed till my daughter was just 3 months old. And when she went to formula she became very constipated. We switched to Soy which worked wonders. Then when she was 6 months old and started solids again she became very constipated so I would make sure I gave her lots of water and a fruit like peaches (prunes were way too hard on her tummy) in the morning which also would work almost like prunes.
