My son is 5 years old he developed a spherical power of -2.5 and cylindrical power of +2.5 in both the eyes .?

what can i do to improve his vision,why did he get this defect?can u please help me .shud he wear glasses always ??

There is not much that you can do at this stage to improve his prescription unfortunately. But what you can do is see that he wears his glasses always to ensure correct visual development. If one eye is weaker than the other he wight develop amblyopia(one eye getting much weaker than the other due to the brain preffering the better eye because the image it gets is better). If you have him wear his specs constantly he should be at 20/20 in a year or 2, he is probably not at 20/20 but maybe 20/30 or 20/40.

Why he got it, I do not know it can be in your or his fathers gene's as one, but its difficult to say. The best is to have him wear the specs and have regular checks, I would say every 6 months to adjust for any changes.

depends on what the optician said they would have told you how often he should have to wear them but he probably would wear them always. my eyes are +0.5 and +0.75 and i have to wear reading glasses. no reason for this happening but i think it happened me by looking at the computer screen too much because i just developed it recently xx
