My son is 6 years old. He has been a very healthy little boy. last week he complained it hurt right here holding right above his p***s area. I thought it was just gas pain told him to sit on the potty he would be fine. And after a few minutes he was fine. Thursday Morn he was in bad pain and crying I took him to the childrens hospital and the pain went away by the time we got there. The dr ran a urine test and said there was nothing must have bben gas and sent us home. Since then he is fine during the day but at night wakes up crying because of the pain he says inside his p***s. Any suggestions on what this could be? Should I take him back and demand a ultra sound or catscan?

  1. I disagree with the RN.  Take your son to a pediatrician or urologist and find out if there is some type of problem with his p***s.  Phimosis can cause pain in the area you describe when the child needs to urinate.  There can be a ballooning around the f******n because the male p***s can enlarge when he has the urge to urinate; it also causes pain in the p***s.

It is a lot more complicated than eating a healthy diet and bowel movements or gas retention.

  2. you need to watch his diet more closely, I'll wager he is constipated.  Try feeding him yogurt three times a day for several days.

  3. I would take hime back and let the dr. know whats going on.I have 2 boys and never had one of them to say that. When I first read your question I thought maybe it was his apendix (not sure of the spelling) The place where you said was the place my son was complaining about above the p***s. Time we got him to the hospital ( after him in pain all day) 11 pm and time they did surgery it had reuptured.
