  1. Hey get in contact with me I have ADD/ADHD and dislexica I had very little help in school and did decently well

  2. I work with children with Special Education Needs (SEN) and I have the perfect little activity that you both cam do. You will both enjoy it.

Get a plactic drawer, or a tray - something like that. I always use a plastic drawer from class.

Fill it with shaving foam. Then your son can spell letters in the foam that he cannot do on paper. He will think it is a game but will be learnign at the same time.

You can use loads of different substances. Glitter, foam, cornflower... the world is your oyster.

    Good luck both =]

  3. Try to get a well trained tutor who deals woth kids with disbilities...it worked for me I have ADHD and I had a tutor at the age of 7 and I am a studying to become a scientist at YALE now so don't give up on him

  4. Well I was thinking hard about this question. Maybe if you made it fun. Like get him a leapfrog. Or make a game about math. A great place to go on is www.funbrain.com

  5. There are a lot of ways to help your son. CAll your local parent infomation center (sometimes called PIC) and get an educational advocate involved, they can help you get the correct services for your child. Also, talk to his teachers and the school to get him in special education.  If you can afford it i'd suggest also calling a sylvan learning center.

  6. Is he in a public school? If so, just talk to his councellor; they have resources that can help your son.

Otherwise, consider browsing you local listings for tutors that specialize in cases like those of your son.

  7. If he has any siblings, pay one of them to help him, or higher a tutor. But make sure he likes the tutor, or he will get more frustraited.

  8. i also have a learning disability with the same caracteristicts as your son and trust me the last thing i ever whanted was my moms disaprovel, its also realy frutrating when your doing your best a people tell you its not good enufe. my advice is to try and find a teacher at his school who could help him with disability.no one is going to get rid of it completly but patients is the best thing for him.  PS. learning disabilitys have nothing to do with your intelagence level make sher you son knows that!!!! good luck

  9. If in UK go onto the BILD website.

    www.bild.com.

Or just Google British Institute for Learning Disabilities.

You can also try this site in USA

    Best of luck.

  10. You should talk to the school's consular and see about having him put into special classes.  I eventually was able to get to where I should be and go back into regular classes. It is not that bad and if he has some sort of learning disability it is possible to overcome it.  I was diagnosed with a learning disability when I was 7 years old and I am doing great! I graduated high school without any problems and am in college to be a teacher.

  11. get him what ever private help you can ...don't rely on the public school system....they have some classes that may help him.....and make sure all his teachers know as well....your boy isn't stupid...he just has a different way of learning.....if the public school systems starts to get frustrating ....try charter schools who specialize in that or even tutors....I to have ADHD and dyslexia  ...my parents put me in a charter school back in the day when I was young like him....it help me a lot .......there are places out there you can go to....and while you are at it ....get your self some as well.....but remember...to always encourage him ...good luck to the both of you...

  12. If he has already been diagnosed with a disability, he may be eligible to receive special education services at his school to meet his challenges.  Ask his teacher, ask the special education dept. of your son's school and start right there. Remember that there is help and that all children can learn, you just need to know his learning style and get help to meet his challenges.  Best wishes to you & your son.

  13. Many times a Speech Language pathologist will work with children that have diagnosed learning disabilities. They will work with your son to help him with his learning strategies and with his reading/writing. I would ask for your son to be seen by the School Psychologist if he hasn't already be seen. Then if needs further treatment and evaluation he will be referred to the appropriate professional either in or outside of school. Definitely have him evaluated if you haven't already and advocate for your child.
