My son is 8years old and evrytime I punish him he wets his pants why?

I have an 8year old and a 12 year old boy and a10 year old girl.

Every time I punish my 8year old I take away things he likes such as toys and give time outs but i never spank.

Every time he gets punished he wets his pants i just do not know what to do.

Has anyone else had this problem. - Or any suggestions.

hes scared of you or he has a weak bladder

That's a tough one. He could be crying out for attention. I know you said you don't use physical punishment but is he easily frightened or nervous when he gets into trouble? That could be a trigger too. Have you talked to your family doctor about this problem?

Bed wedding is considered to be a sign of trauma, maybe you should see a doctor.

my 7 year old autistic daughter does the same thing. it could be caused from an emotional distress disorder. my daughter has asbergers autism syndrome and comprehension dyslexia. and when she gets into trouble she will wet herself. just try to be firm but gentle when disciplining. ask your doctor. you might have to look around for a good doctor to help out though. i went through several doctors telling me my daughter was a brat and i was a bad parent until i went to children's hospital in akron, oh and found out she was disabled. good luck.

He may be doing it (on purpose or not) so that you won't punish him.  It's called manipulation, again whether he is doing it on purpose or not.

Sounds like he is expressing his anger in a passive aggressive manner.  When he wets his pants, who is responsible for the clean-up?  If you are doing ANY part of it, that needs to stop.  He needs to bathe himself AND wash the clothes and whatever else he soiled.
