I would have to agree with everyone else.  Could be a sign of something wrong with your son.  Maybe a little more serious.  A bulging belly is usually a sign of malnutrition.  

Take him to the dr.

malnutrion maybe. even if he is eating a lot of healthy foods his body may not be absorbing the nutrients well. My 1 yr old fell off the weight charts even though she loves to eat. found out she wasn't absorbing milk right. switched to soy and pediasure now she is catching up! go see a dr!
