I would say that your son needs to break up with her.

1. He's angry about this ex boyfriend and her attention on him

2. She undoubtedly knows this

3. She continues to do it anyway

4. So she is trivializing his feelings.

You can't have a relationship with someone who trivializes your feelings. Imagine the situation in reverse?! You'd have a girl screaming bloody murder over this ex.

You need to tell your son to be a man and end this relationship if she doesn't stop spending time with this ex.

I get the feeling that this girl is pretty self centered. Help your son to see that it is no big loss and that he has the strength and fortitude to overcome the pain he'll feel.

But staying in the relationship as it stands....no way.

I would remind your son that he is worth way more than that kind of treatment.  Build up his self-esteem, a decent girl isn't going to do that kind of thing.  Maybe suggest some other activities that involve the guys to help get his mind off her until he is over her.

it kind of depends, if the ex is a friend, not anything more than intimate, then  he probably shouldn't worry about it.

He should just talk to her.

He has got to tell her how he feels about it and just lay it on the line that it's either her ex or him. she is way out of order for doing this. it's totally inconsiderate. maybe she just doesn't value him high enough.
