  1. of cause its ok, They still need to celebrate with there loved ones and PARTY

  2. Well, if he's getting married, that's their wedding - whatever style it happens to be.

Having an engagement party is totally fine.

  3. Today's young adults do what they want. Tradition has no hold on them. If they want an engagement party be happy for them, this is their time.

  4. I happen to think that would be better than an actual wedding and a lot less expensive too i think that is really cute congrats to the new couple.

  5. Yes, certainly, IF he and his fiancee want one. It sounds like they might not be "party people," so you might want to ask what kind of gathering they would be most comfortable with - maybe a backyard barbeque, or dinner at a restaurant with some close family and a few friends.

  6. Im not sure I understand why they would want an enagement party....

they want to celebrate that they are going to get married... yet not celebrate GETTING married?

also, think about it like this, you get invited to the engagement party, and then you find out theyre married. opens up a whole can of worms to me.

BUT again, in the spirit of YA. its their Marriage and engagement, and if thats what they want... etc etc

  7. genreally you invite those to the engagement party that would go to the wedding.  Its not the best plan but since there is not wedding then it shouldnt be such a big deal1

  8. An engagement party would be appropriate as long as they agree to it..  You could also suggest a very informal open house..

  9. Sure, why not?  I would go to one.  It's a chance to celebrate the couple.  I don't think I would do a wedding registry, but if you want to invite people over for some food and drinks, I think most people would love to come!  Congrats on the soon-to-be daughter in law, and best of luck to the couple!!!
