  1. Do: Life vest (also known as "personal flotation device")

            Know your knots

Take along a canteen of water

Keep arms and legs INSIDE the boat.

            Sunscreen.

  2. Do:

    -Have Fun!

    -Listen carefully to you leaders

-Take every opportunity to learn something new

-Bring sunblock and sunglasses (UV on the water is brutal)

    -Watch the sunset

    -Take pictures

    Don't:

-Worry about seasickness, it happens to the best and there is medication

-Walk around on deck at night alone

Having a basic knowledge of knots is helpful but there are really on two or three he will use aboard a sailboat and should learn them on board.  The sea is an amazing place so enjoy!

  3. do bring shoes that will let water through. do ask your scoutmaster for advise

  4. yup! rope knots is very important if your son is going to a trip! i was a scout when i was in grade school. and you really need to learn and how to sacrifice.

    do`s

    1. follow the scout leader

2.be your self and dont you ever let others trick you.[ well it happen to me one time and they will laugh at you to the max.

3.the best thing to do is pray

    don't

    1. don't go anywhere without any permission

    2. eat too much food

    good luck to your son.

    hope this the best answer

  5. Everything you need to know is on page 152 of the Boy Scout Hand Book, my suggestion is to have your son read it, then you should read it, and then you should quiz him on it.

This is an important section, as your son can not complete the 1st Class Scout Requirements, without it.
