  1. go to your Dr or the teacher at the school and see how thy can help you the teacher shod help

  2. mine is 4 years and cant even write yet. Try giving Inland Regional Center a call they can help

  3. How old is your son?  If he is at least 3 and if you haven't done so yet, check with your local school district to see if they offer a pre-school program for students with disabilities. If they do offer this program, he may be eligible for pre-school classes and services that he can have now and that will continue once he reaches regular school age at no cost to you.

  4. Most Kindergarten students learn how to write their names during the first month of school.  By the end of Kindergarten, children should be able to write their first and last names, read sight words, write basic sight words, count up to 20, and count back from 20, among other things.

  5. This varies quite a bit.  Some children are able to write their names at 3, some are 5 or 6 before they can do it.

Label your son's belongings with his name and point it out to him.  Put some flour on a cookie sheet and help him trace his name in the flour with his finger.  Put shaving cream on the table and write letters in it.  Children learn letters that have personal meaning to them first, so start with the first letter of his first name.  Look for it everywhere, signs, cereal boxes, the newspaper.  Every time you write that letter show him and say look I made your J (or M or R or whatever!).  Encourage him to write that letter too.  When he's pretty proficient at the first letter, add the second, and so on.

To get back to your original question, I would say 4 is probably average, but like I said, it varies quite a bit.  Every child is different.
