  1. Try to get a tutor for him.  Many high school students do this for reasonable rates.  It might also help if you made a better example for him yourself.  It's clear that you cannot spell or write well so maybe you are giving him the impression that it is not important.  Insist on excellence and make sure that there are consequences if he does not perform to the best of his abilities.  Not everyone can be an "A" student, but everyone is capable of doing their best.
