  1. He maybe constipated. I would give him some rice cereal or oatmeal something with fiber. He'll get that p**p out!!

  2. get a bottle. half apple juice. half water. this is a triditional remody that has helped me in the past when my baby was constipated. should work for you too. good luck!

  3. my doctor always told me that babies sometimes wont p**p for a couple days, but if he isnt in pain i wouldnt worry. what helps my son when he hasnt gone pooped in a couple days is give him prune juice, he loves the juice and goes not long after that, but beware it will be a LOOSE p**p lol. also solids could have played apart in it but i would just try the juice since he isnt in pain.

  4. wow....go to the doctor now...i mean right now.....my friends daughter had that similar problem but the baby parent ignore it....until one day it make a big complication with their baby.....the baby lost her hearing.

    so don't wait.

  5. It is true that babies can go days between bowel movements and since you just started solids that really explains it.  You may have just been a little too agressive with how much solid food you are giving him.  Cut back a little with solids and nurse a little more.  Breastmilk will certainly loosen up stools and you can still introduce the solids, maybe just a little slower.

  6. My daughter went through this same thing she is now 8 mon. old.  The Pediatrician says that breastfeed babies don't get constipated but have infrequent bowel movements, she once went 7 days I was worried to death she was fine but I was a nervous wreck.  They did suggest warm pear juice

  7. His tummy is probably trying to adjust to the new foods...try giving him some prune juice (baby juice) or grape juice...when you feed him baby food, try to give him the ones that are higher in fiber, like peas and things like that...maybe stop the rice cereal for a while too if he's had that...if he's still not going, call your doctor...I'm pretty sure its nothing serious, a lot of little ones go through that, but just to ease your mind, ask the doc...they can suggest other stuff too...good luck!

  8. It is very normal for a baby starting solids. I just talked to my ped. about this two weeks ago. After three days I was to bring my girl in to see her- so I would recommend a check-up if he doesn't go soon. For now give him pear juice, apple juice can actually cause the problem or if he will take it prune juice. Do half water and half juice. Pear juice is easiest on their stomach- low acid and is what my ped recommended. Even though I find it silly to buy baby juices- regular juice is fine- I couldn't find plain pear any where else other then in the baby section at Walmart- Heinz has a good one. It really has been doing the job, I give her two ounces mixed with 2 ounces of water daily now to prevent this from happening again- hope things are better soon!

  9. Call your doctor. Your doctor will be able to tell you different this to try to get him to p**p. But my little girl went through that and they weren't worried unless her stomach seemed harder than usually and they told me to rub downwards (not to hard) on her belly and lower back to help move the p**p down. And when he does p**p be sure to check to make sure there isn't any blood.

  10. babies can go a few day to a week without pooping, he is just probably adjusting to the solids. Rice cereal, bananas can cause constipation.

Try oats instead, and limit bananas. Give him a bit of applesauce and prunes. The sugars break it all down and loosen everything up. Or you can try the prune juice, half & half in a bottle. Or Try 1/2 tsp of Karo Syrup in a few bottles. (you can mix it with breastmilk/and or formula)

Sarah used to get constipated all the time, and I started solids and she actually has pooped more, I just limit the intake of the foods that constipate her.

If you try any of the suggestions, and still nothing, I would call the DR asap. He shouldn't go without a BM more then 5 days. Good Luck, Ill pray for a poopie :D

  11. Actually cereal can be constipating because of the iron.  PEAR JUICE....( recommended by my daughters doctor ) diluted with some water ( 25% juice 75% water ) works great...believe me.  Also I know it's not the most pleasant thing in the world but you can "stimulate" him by putting a thermometer in his bottom to try to direct the p**p down...of course call your doctor and see what they say...usually there is an on call nurse.  Nothings wrong with your son though...this is normal when starting solids but he must be uncomfortable so try what I said...good luck.

  12. Apple, pear and prune juice are all good for warding off constipation but...he hasn't done for 5 days so he needs rapid relief.  Put a baby size (1 gram)  glycerine suppository in him - or, cut off a sliver of soap and push it up his butt with vaseline.  Either one should make him do a dooey in 5-15 minutes.

  13. I'll tell you what to do.. take him to a doctor..!!

probably is nothing but dont take chances.. good luck!!

    congrats for your baby!

sorry 4 my english Im french but I need to practise lol

  14. don't worry,just show him to doctor :)

  15. 1st:  Call your doctor.

2nd:  That is actually pretty normal for a baby starting on solds

don't worry....try to give solids that will aid in digestion.  bananas will actually constipate, so try prunes.

Your doctor may suggest adding one Tsp of dark Karo syrup to the morning bottle.  This trick works like a charm!!!

  16. I imagine the foods you introduced are constipating him, try pureed prunes( I always keep this at home now because it works great to unplug my daughter) My pedi told me you have to kind of balance their diet such as a little stop up food and a little unplug food in balance to keep your baby regular.  I would try some prunes and if that doesn't work by morning call your pedi and see what they recommend.

  17. Since he is on solids, try some giving him some prune baby food.  It always worked for me when my daughter went days without a BM.  Also, you can try giving him a warm bath and letting him sit in the water for a little while, dr's say that is supposed to help.

    Good Luck
