  1. get a bugville butterfly tree house and let him raise the butterflys from cattipillars and h**l notice that their nice

  2. Yes, you don't allow him to act like that.  You tell him to stop his screaming and crying and get ahold of himself or he will go to bed!  Then start teaching him about bugs.  Get him a bug container so he can catch them and look at them and learn about them.  Teach him what ones bite and that most don't!  Let him pick them up and hold them and teach him how interesting they can be, so he isn't afraid of them anymore.  Also, how do YOU react to bugs?  Is he just copying you?  If so STOP IT!

  3. tell him its ok,  the bugs are more afraid of him then he is of the bugs. and show him how the bugs are 1/100 of his size. They are tiny and his is big!

  4. hey, i do just about the same thing

    how awkward

  5. show him how to kill them, he will enjoy it and look for insects to have fun

  6. Buy a couple picture books about bugs like "Diary of  Worm" that give the bugs personalities like humans. Watch "Bug's Life" and show him that bugs aren't bad and won't hurt him. Go no a bug hunt and search for bugs outside, you can even buy a bug box and catch a few. Call it a science experiment and tell him you are observing these bugs to learn more about them. You could even keep a journal with him. He will see that they won't hurt him.

  7. Prove to him it's ok. Have a bug stay in your room for a few days in a jar. Make sure it can't get out. Tell him that they won't hurt and that they help us. Tell him how they help us. I hope this helped.

  8. im no psychologist but maybe you should try holding a bug in your hand and show him it's okay.

    like a lady bug.

    or a rollie pollie.

and get close to him with it and try to get him to hold it.

  9. Most insects are harmless.

As his parent, your son will trust you and follow your lead. You should capture some insects and crush them in you fingers and eat them. I know it's a bit gross but it won't do you any harm and it will show your son that the insects can't hurt him.

Instead of fearing insects he will start eating them. This behavior usually stops when boys start liking girls so it is not a long term problem.

  10. a fear of insects is natural among humans. if he is still young, you can help him interact with insects to make him feel safe. start out with butterflies. they're easy to attract if you put sliced oranges on a platter outside your window sill.
