  1. I just completed an online high school course.  It was well-paced, and I felt that I learned much more than I would have in a classroom.  There are less distractions, and you can do as much as you want, when you want.  It requires self-discipline, and is a great way to learn responsibility.  If you're worried about your son not making friends, this may not be a good choice; however, if you feel that he is social enough and if he has a place to go (such as a team) to make friends, then he should be fine.  Good luck deciding!

  2. I took a social studies course online and I enjoyed it. It was basically 9 months worth of the class condensed into 1 month, but it still wasn't hard. I had assignments due every day, except the weekends and I managed to do well. However right in the middle I suffered from motivation problems. This was mainly because of my dad who did something stupid and made me depressed. So I sort of gave up, but I got out with a 71, which isn't so bad, but I could have done better. The point is that online classes require complete focus and motivation. I don't think I can take online courses again because of the many distractions in my environment, but could if I were to move out. So basically, I think it's a good idea as long as he doesn't get distracted easily.
