  1. If I ate burger king I'd throw up too. Do you have a concept of basic nutrition?  If that is how you are feeding a two year old, no wonder he's throwing up.

The brat diet sounds OK, also ask your doctor for information on proper diet, I think you need it.  You could probably also add plain steamed veges, whole grain crackers, pears and plain cooked chicken breast or plain cooked fish (you'll have to bake these, no salt, no seasonings, no oil) because he's going to need his protien.

To drink how about water?  He should be drinking a bunch of that anyway.  Looks like you could also offer diluted apple juice, pear juice.  I would avoid citrus, it's too acidic.

You may also want to take a look at how perishable food is stored at your house.  Years ago I had a friend with three sons under five.  One of the boys was ALWAYS sick with the flu.  I read and then shared with her an article on how at least 50% of cases of the flue in the US were actually mild food poisoning.  She started refrigorating the leftovers from dinner that she routinely fed the kids for breakfast - magically, no more flu.

Fast food = poison, don't feed it to your kids.

  2. he may be coming down with something, how is his temperature and attitude during the day. is he still active or is he lazy and not wanting to do anything.

I think the BRAT diet would be good right now.. feed him things that are easy on his stomach... chicken broth with crackers, juice, toast..keep him hydrated as much as possible.

If the throwing up gets bad, like today, if he isnt keeping anything down, i wouldnt wait till monday, and just take him to the ER for a check.

  3. there is no medicine for a stomach virus anyways, ive been thru it a million times with my kids. only take him if he really gets lethargic or cant keep anything down for more than a 24 hr period.. go buy some pedialyte (its nasty but some kids will take it) and as you said, try the brat diet. if he keeps throwing up , dont worsen it by feeding him.. itll only make him keep throwing it up. the dr told me before that even a few days without food isnt harmful, you have to let the stomach rest and get over whatever is wrong with it.. water or pedialyte even sometimes wont stay down but at that point as i said, def go to the dr

  4. He shouldn't be throwing up until Monday...until he feels better feed him anything he will eat except maybe milk products. I know this sounds weird but give him soda to drink, small amounts of pepsi or coke type soda, lots of water, flavored waters. If he is throwing up in his sleep try not to feed him to close to bed time, maybe the full tummy and laying down is not a good combination right now. Good luck and be aware that throwing up often causes diarrhea and just treat it the same as throwing up. Try not to let him go without eating.

  5. My son had the same problem. I don't know the name in english but is called "reflujo" in spanish. You only need to put a pillow under his mattress so his head is a little upper from his stomach. This could prevent him from throwing up. Also you should not feed him right before going to bed. Last supper should be 2 hours before. Be careful, please. There are also medication if all of this doesn't work. Anyway, if I was you I'll take him to his doc.

  6. Try the BRAT diet and be sure he is taking in lots of fluids. Pedia lite would be best. my kids hated te flavor of it, but would eat the Pediacycles. If he vomits again before you can get him into the doc, I would take him to the ER, or Urgent Care Clinic. I worry about hime choking on his vomit during the night.Good luck!

  7. I would start with that and see how he does over the weekend. You have an appt. so just wait it out in the meantime, if he isnt having stomach pains or any other painful symptoms try the diet if he develops these you might want to try going to the ER. record what he does, what he eats, when he throws up and kinda what it looks like so you can be prepared to help the doctor get an idea of what is going on. good luck!

  8. Yeah, just feed him stuff that's light on his stomach.  Rice, toast, eggs, things like that.

  9. The diet would work, keep it light. Make sure he doesn't get dehydrated. If he keeps vomiting a lot and shows other symptoms and gets very lethargic, go to the ER. I know its hard, but its good your watching his progress round the clock. Hope he gets well soon!

  10. And yogurt. BRATY

The yogurt will help the whatevers in his tummy.

Give him lots of Pedialite. If he can't keep those down, get him the popsicle Pedialite.

    Good luck Sweetie.

  11. Yes, the BRAT diet can't hurt anything.  Let him drink water or go get some pedialyte for him. I hope he gets better soon.

  12. Yeah, I'd stick with those kinds of foods for now.  My mom usually suggests I give my daughter de-fizzed ginger ale or light juices (like white grape) when her stomach is upset like that.  A little bit of Pedialyte here and there couldn't hurt either if he keeps throwing up.

  13. My son is the same age and just got over that same thing.  It is the saddest thing to watch!  Poor little guy!   Keeping him hydrated is the most important thing so definitely get him some Pedialyte.  My son did not like the taste at all so I bought some really fun character cups with crazy straws and that helped a lot.  Don't push food on him even if he seems to be feeling better because that is what I did and he kept throwing up!   Good Luck!
