My nine month old son is 30 inches tall and I have the crib on the lowest setting but (there is always a but huh?)

Last night he was trying to reach for something and took a nose dive right out of the crib! Thank God being a parent somehow turns you into a ninja and I caught him but I didn't sleep for anything and now I'm terrified to have him in the crib when he's awake. He can't sleep with me since he moves around so much and will eventually just fall off of the bed I'm sure. HELP!! What do I do, he is soooooo not ready for a toddler bed.

  1. put the crib on the highest setting. or you could just talk to a doctor he might be able to help. idk that much.

  2. my son is almost 40 inches and is still in his crib, you must get another crib or you have no other option other than a playpen, or a toddler bed with rails all around.

  3. My son is the same height and his crib is much taller than yours apparently... strange. You might have to buy another crib. A friend of mine  has one with a really low setting, about 6 inches off of the floor and her toddler does just fine in it.

  4. If you cant get another crib, try a pack and play or someother portable crib that has very high sides and is close to the ground.  It might get you through until he is ready for a toddler bed.  I'd be nervous of him rolling out of a toddler bed but I guess they do make them with sides.  Also, once he starts to crawl, he'll be very mobile if he is in a toddler bed but won't have the capacity to understand what it means to stay in bed.

  5. why is he not ready for a toddler bed????

you know, safety rails are available for beds.

would you rather him fall from a height of about 3 feet, or tumble out of a bed from less than a foot? (neither of which is safe....just a question of one being less painful than the other)

  6. they make mesh tents that go over the top of the crib so the baby can't fall out
