  1. I didn't just the kids.  Goody bags had candy, bubbles, etc.

  2. I actually just had the same situation on Saturday!  I was expecting 4 children, one a newborn, and 1 yr old, a 6 yr old and a 10 yr old.  I went to the dollar tree and picked out a gifts just for them.  Everyone was happy.  Adults consider a full tummy good enough for their attendance.

  3. no just for the children

  4. nope, kids only.

  5. just booze is fine for the adults

  6. No way. I always end up having to hold my sons bag to try to avoid the inevitable "Thats MINEEEE"! drama.  Every party the kids get caught up playing & set down their bag & then arguements arise over who's bag is who's.  The last thing I want is another bag of junk to tie up my one free hand.

Honestly with the cost of the goody bag toys & seeing what happens to them afterward.  I've stopped giving them altogether.   Instead we try to have plenty of party games to play. The goodies are the usually are the quality of the cheap carnival  prizes that fall apart & are forgotten very quickly.  I've had birthday parties at my house & half the goodies are left at my house destined to become the toybox crumbs that we just end up throwing away.  (if you do the goody bags give them to guest as they walk out the door)

You will spend enough money on food, cake, decorations, & gifts without adding one more expense.  Put that money where it counts, this is your son's first birthday & they are just going to get more expensive every year.

Us adult attendees just want our kids to have fun.

  7. No, just for the kids. That's what kids parties are about:)

  8. no. kids only. unless you are martha freakin stewart. who has time for stuff like that?

  9. We only had goody bags for the kids at my daughter's 1st b-day party.  I think we had one or two adults take left over goody bags because we didn't want them to go to waste and they had older children at home that might enjoy some of the stuff inside.  The adults just enjoyed being invited, eating and watching the kids have a good time.  Happy B-day to him!
