  1. Your son should already be in a preschool somewhere, b'cus when he turns 5 yrs. old he should be ready for Kindergarten. Preschool is really a place just for them to enhance their social skills, which is for him to learn how to get along with other children, how to share, and how to be apart of a group and not feel like an "outsider"...some preschools will also help potty train, teach them how to tie their shoes, how to dress themselves as well as undress, how to brush their teeth, and so on. It is a really good experience for them!!! So you may need to go ahead now and start working with him on things that I have listed if he's not already doing some of them. I really hope that his social skills will be good and that he will do fine when he does get into school....Be blessed!

  2. Your child is turning five? Enrol him in kindergarten for the 2008-2009 school year.

  3. Technically your child should be enrolled in kinder-garden. BUT A state preschool or head start will not take your child next school year unless he has an IEP that states he needs Pre-K for longer. A non federal or state funded program (Title 22 in CA) will usually take a child depending on their policies. Each child is different and its important that you as his parent stand up for his needs, after all you know him best.

  4. If your child will be 5 years old on Aug. 6, 2008, register him to start Senior Kindergarten in September 2008.

If there is Junior Kindergarten where you live, think about enrolling him there NOW as it will help him adjust and give him a headstart.  Most cities have 1/2 day J.K. and full-day S.K.

  5. As a 5 year old, your son in kindergarten eligible.  However you as a parent may enroll him in either preschool or Kindergarten. Most schools have a screening process in the spring that might answer some questions you have about his "readiness"  I would recommend  preschool of some sort now to get him ready when he goes to Kindergarten.  It is always easy to spot the kids who are attending Kindergarten as their first school experience.

  6. You wont' be able to enroll him in preschool because according to his age, as on September 08,  he'll be ready to start Kindergarten
