  1. The Book Samaritan will send you free materials but you need to request them

  2. I go to Florida Virtual School (FLVS) online school and am in eighth grade. You could go to there website on FLVS.net or call 407-513-3587 for more information. Also it is free for all Florida residents.

  3. Go to your local school board and ask for your son to be put in "home-bound" schooling. It isn't the same as "home school".

In home-bound schooling, the students are supplied with a speaker phone, a schedule and all the necessary books. Then at the scheduled time, the speaker phone will ring and on the other end will be a teacher and several other home-bound students. This way, your son can get an education through the school system, he can participate in an educational environment and the contact teacher will come out to your house every week to pick up his school work.

It can be done but sometimes it takes a little bit of a battle. But it will be worth it. He will still receive his education through the school system and it will be much easier on you. But, he does have to be by that speaker phone at each and every scheduled time just like he is reporting to class.

    Good Luck.

  4. If you're in the process of getting online school sorted out, I wouldn't worry about finding anything in particular. Just hang out and read together. He can get stuck into "proper" schoolwork when his placement comes through.
