My son just diagnosed with dyspraxia?

any body else have children who have this or have it them selfs i m not even sure what it is yet just trying take it all in!!!!!!!

  2. I have cared for child with dyspraxia. They have pretty much been the same as most children just slightly less aware of their surroundings, personal space etc. Also they have difficulties holding pencils, threadin etc....but generally they are no different to other children so just because he's been diagnosed doesnt mean your or his life will be turn upside down---just means you'll both get much better level of support now!

    Do some gentle research online and read different interpretations. You may find support groups that often have lots of personal experience.

I have 2 kids with dyspraxia.  It is a coordination issue, a problem with motor planning.  Language is slow to develop, frequently they are low muscle tone, have sensory issues (sensory integration), have difficulty with handwriting, are clumsy.  It can be accompanied with anxiety, and is frequently seen with ASD's (autistic spectrum disorders) and/or dyslexia.
