  1. Most of the time, a policy says you must list all household members on your policy, if you want there to be coverage when they are driving.

So, do you want your policy to pay out, if he cracks up the van?  If so, you should insure him as a driver.

  2. (in the USA) by law: You must list him as a driver with your insurance company.   He will be covered driving your van.  Your rates will go up

  3. Yes.

If your son gets into an accident and that's his fault,

your insurance company might not pay for liability damage and you might hire an auto accident attorney but it can get pretty complicated. It's better let insurance company know ahead of time that your son will be driving your van.

If you can explain that your son won't be driving much like he won't be driving to his long distant work daily or his is from distant school only during the summer vacation he comes home and borrow your van sometimes or something like that, they won't increase your premium too much.

  4. Both

  5. no you need to put his name on the insurance  he can drive the car but if he crashes your insurance company can say the they wont cover the damages because hes not insured.

  6. you should put him on your ins. immediately
