My son now is 18 month old. He started to sip on the men's handkerchief(plain and no fur) one month ago. Now he need it to comfort him to sleep and to comfort him when he is teething. Is it ok for his stomach or his health??? I wash the handkerchief everyday to avoid bacteria. Should I change his habit or should I give him to sip on the pacifier??? When he is below 1 year old, he refuse to accept pacifier. If he accept it now, will it be hard to wean later??? Pls help....

  1. The hanker chief is better then pacifier. He will out grow this I wouldn't worry to much. No harm in it, just security. Good Luck

  2. even though you wash the handkerchief u should really stop it

when he gets old he would be an addict of sipping that handkerchief

i don't really know about your last question

                                    -hope i help-

  3. no its fine its just a faze my little cousin does this he has a cloth that he sucks when he goes to bed its really cute and my auntie washs the cloth and he about 4 now so yea its fine he'll grow out of is

  4. Please get him a teething ring.  Place the ring in the fridge and let it get cool.  It will soothe his gums and is a lot more sterile.

  5. It's perfectly OK for him to have this item as a comfort. Most children wean themselves from their comfort item so don't worry about that until it happens. If you need to wean him later you can tell him that another child needs the handkerchief and try to get him to give it up that way. Good luck and don't worry about it too much!
