My 3 year old son won't stop listening to music and dancing. He insisted on getting Hannah Montana CD from library. Is that weird? Is Hannah Montana appropriate for a 3 year old boy?

  1. I think if he likes it let him listen to it!  Its more "mature" than your typical The Wheels On the Bus but it's not filled with negativity and cuss words. Most kids love Disney music!

  2. No it is not weird.  Your son could just really like music.  My sons are 6 & 10 and they like her music too.

  3. I dont see any thing wrong with Hannah Montana my son likes it too. He watches it and Ive watched it I dont see how it could be bad for a 3 yo my son is 5

  4. I'm not sure I guess it would be okay, so he likes music what's the big deal, I don't assume it has any bad language or anything so let it be. My friends 3 year old son loves the show, he's no longer interested in cartoons only the "real" tv shows like Hannah Montana, Suite life and stuff like that, but when you get around him you can tell he is ALL boy. I think he'll be fine and no it's not weird.

  5. It is completely normal for kids to like characters, music and toys of the opposite s*x.  It doesn't mean you did something wrong, and it doesn't mean your child is less than perfect or will turn out any different.  Children are sponges, it is good for them to learn and experience things from several different aspects other than the main stream.  My son loves Dora, and he loves to play with dolls, more so than trucks and your usual "boy toys," but take him out a public and he is quick to flirt with a pretty girl.

  6. it's fine i would even let him watch hannah montana even i like her a lil bit but man=ke shure he listens to other stuff to but dont make him turn it off or anything like that cuz kids like what they cant have yes even at 3 years old so he will grow out of it one day and as he grows up he will notice none of the other boys listen to it so he will slow down even more just try to keep him occupid with boys and once in a while i would let him watch like 1 show not all of them and if its emmbarrasing get over it cuz hes ur kid be happy he dont like songs that say **** about "imma rob that cradle and take the baby shoot it in its head and rape his momma" or some c**p like that hannah montana in my veiw is good for all kids girls and boys alike

  7. Its Disney, he's been brainwashed!

  8. thats kind of weird for a boy but then again hes little so who really cares right

  9. there is nothing wrong with hanna montana

  10. She sings kid-friendly music. The content is nothing you should be concerned about. He's only 3, if he likes to sing and dance that's EXCELLENT. It's good for his self-esteem to not be shy about those things.

In regards to her being a female singer who wears tons of pink sparkly stuff and him being a little boy, i'd be proud he like the girl :)

In all reality, they've done numerous studies that show babies of both genders respond more attentively and affectionately to the tones of the female voice. It's natural for him and any youngster to be more inclined to a song in which a female sings. No worries.

  11. No, it's not weird. It doesn't really matter if the other people answering this question don't like her, or think she sings bad. Her music is appropriate for the younger generation, which should just leave you happy alone since it's hard to find kid-friendly music this day in age. Your son being so interested in music and dance at his age should flatter you. It actually shows signs of early intelligence.

  12. If you do not know who she is and what the  music is about, than don't let him listen to it.

The new cd that just came out is for mature audiences. The Hannan Montana stuff is ok for pre teens and up but not for 3 year olds. He may get angry, but a mom has to put her child's welfare first , not her emotional feelings about being liked by her child.

Mom first, friend after as long as it does not interfere with the mom thing. He may like many things as he grows up, some will be age appropriate and some not. Do not let him end up like so many children that I help every day, confused, lost, depressed, and many other things, because of a variety of things including a parent trying to be the friend instead of the parent.

Your son is not old enough to decide what is and is not good for him. That is what parents are for.

There are many upbeat songs he could listen to. Try having him watch sesame street, disney cartoons like Peter Pan and so on. There are many childrens shows on during the day that have music in them. Find those, they will be age appropriate. The music for most of them is also sold in the stores or your library has a ton of them to use for free!

    Good luck.

  13. After hearing what she recently did, I'm not currently a big fan of hers...

  14. i like the music and the tv show there is nothing wrong with either 1 and i am a 16 year old boy

  15. She's a horrible singer, she only got the "Hannah Montanna" part, because of her father. Really it's pitifull, Disney brainwashes little kids into liking their c**p.

  16. Well, my 12 year old brother likes hannah montana...is there really anything wrong with a boy liking music?

  17. I'd say no but its not my room to talk because I hate her but your the mother, why are you asking us?

  18. I don't see what the problem is...Your son likes music that he can dance to, there is no problem in that.  My 4 year old loves here too and can sing along with a lot of HM songs.
