Question:

My son might have eaten paint. What should I do?

I turned away just long enough to read one e-mail and my usually very well behaved 2 year old had peeled paint off the wall. He was eating a cracker which I gave him earlier but I'm not sure he actually ate any of the paint. The apartment where we live was built in 1900 but I don't know if there is any lead paint here. He was previously tested and the doctor said he was fine but that was about a year ago. Should I call the doctor? The ER? How can I know if he ingested lead?

  1. Go get him checked....better safe than sorry.

  2. if it was built in 1900, then there is a good chance lead paint was used back then. I would call the doctor or ER and ask them.

  3. well make an appointment for him to go get a blood test  and see wat the result will be

  4. Call poisen control

  5. you can go to your local hardware stop for about $5 you can buy a lead test it looks like  marker and you rub it on the surface you want to test i think it turns pink if there is lead on the tested surface we did this to check some old plates we got from my wife's grandmother.

you will at least know if there is lead or not than you can make the right decision

  6. Call the E.R and hope it wasn't Lead paint... otherwise call the school and see it the short bus will come to your house from now on.

  7. Call poison control. But you can go to the ER.It cant hurt!

  8. Why are you here and not at the E.R.?

  9. the apartment is suppose to be up to code and not have lead in the paint. once lead is in your system it will never come out and can cause serious problems. ask your landlord if there is lead in the paint. i would think no there isn't

  10. First of all, wash his mouth alot. My little brother had some on his tounge but we did not know. We washed his tounge like crazy and he was fine. Contact the Poison Control fast.

    the number is: 1-800-222-1222

They take your calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Try to find if he got paint around him.

    Good Luck

  11. i highly doubt that the paint on the wall was lead paint because now  they dont make lead paint anymor because it is harmful ESPECIALLY IF WE IT.  chances are that at one time they did have lead painted walls but now they propabaly repainted them for safty reasons.  BUT i would definately go to the er because he could have ate it.  Be safe dont waite for something bad to happen.  Go to the ER not the doctors office, because it takes to long.    Go to the ER right now or it could be fatal.

  12. Call poison control: 1-800-222-1222

They will give you further instructions
