  1. Cutting his hair by yourslef will be very hard.  I would take him to the barber and let him sit on your lap, take a toy or a lollipop to keep him occupied.  If you try to do it at home I would put him in a high chair to keep him in one place and then maybe put on a movie he likes that will get him interested and not paying attention to you

  2. I would say that you should probably just take him in to get it done.  That way, if he is wiggly, you will not have to worry about hurting him with the scissors.  Hairdressers, especially kid's hairdressers, are trained to deal with wiggly kids, and know what to do to get them to cooperate.  There are some places that do only kids hair cuts.  Most of them have cars or airplanes for the kids to sit in, which is a source of entertainment for them.  It's better to start taking him now, when he's young, so that he will get used to it.  If he does not go now, how will you ever be okay to take him when he's older?

  3. Don't cut it yourself, I used to work in a salon just for kids and it can be very difficult. The earlier you bring him the easier it will become. Look and see if there is a snip its salon near you, it is a great place to have k ids hair cut, I bet he will do great!

  4. I took my not yet 2 yr old to get her hair cut at one of the salon's inside walmart. I sat in the chair with her on my lap and they put an extra large apron around us . She sat there like a good girl and let them cut her hair. I held her head still during the bangs and when she got afraid but she didn't cry.

  5. I suggest you distract him while cutting his hair. Like, make sure he's eating, sleeping, or watching TV.

If he still doesn't cooperate, than I suggest that you go to a hair salon or somthin of that sort.

  6. Honestly the baest thing to do is to take him to a place where they only cut kids hair. My son was 1 when he needed his first and he still doesn't like to go. But he know they have a train table he can play with if he goes. And everybody there is trained to deal with children and they know how to help if he is scared.

  7. Try to do it while he is asleep.  That is what I have to do sometimes with my son.

  8. I took my son the same time his daddy went and had him sit in my lap while daddy got his hair cut next to us at the same time he was not even one yet but he behaved seeing daddy doing it to.
