Our son has had sleep issues for most of his two years. He had reflux as a baby, continued to be difficult to manage (ie screaming for hours on end in the middle of the night) and I was just told by endless health professionals to be tougher with him until, through reading other people's problems on the forum I took him to an audiologist and was found to have glue ear. Antibiotics fixed this and he had no hearing damage. Finally we all started getting some sleep. About 6 weeks ago he started waking early (ie around 4/4.30am) and not going back to sleep, going off his food on regular occassion and is now back to briefly waking at night. A check up at the audiologist found nothing amiss and I just put it down to molars coming. We have seen nothing of the teeth I assumed he was getting and now he again has a low temperature of 35.4 degrees (he rarely gets high temps, just very low ones). Even wearing warm clothing and pain relief such as nurofen tends to have limited effect.

  1. Obviously this is a celcius temperature.  I would suspect an infection.  Take him to the pediatrician.  keep a log of the temperatures and treatments (antibiotic 10 days) and consider making an appointment with an infectious disease doctor.  My oldest was frequently ill.  We went to infectious disease and he had low immunoglobulins and received treatment for that.  Consider going to an ENT as well.  Something is going on here and my suggestion is to go to specialists.  Chances are the pediatrician may miss it

  2. if thats farheheit... he's dead.... if its celcius... then that is fine 35.4:37... not that far off... if it goes down to 32 then worry....

  3. Keep bringing him to a different doctor until someone finds out whats going on.

  4. Is that 35.4 degress C?? I sure hope so because its not possible for it to be F...anyvvays I vvould seek a professional.

  5. If your son really had a temp of 35 degrees he'd be dead. That's two degrees away from freezing. This is so stupid.
