  1. depending on what you are cleaning, a mild bleach solution and the hotest water possible will be fine

  2. Well...Sam G got a point from me. Yes, use the bleach and the hottest water setting on your machine. That will kill bacteria. And instruct your Son on the MRSA Deaths.

Just 2 years ago in the summer a Pop Warner Football Coaches Son came down with MRSA, and didn't make it. This town was deep in Sorrow. The boy didn't want to tell his folks he didn't feel well or had sores. So instruct your children on this fact. It is nothing to mess with.

  3. The potentially deadly drug-resistant staph “superbug” MRSA has been spreading and could be responsible for as many as 18,650 U.S. deaths a year.

But there are steps you can take to reduce your chance of infection with the MRSA and other dangerous bugs, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other sources:

Keep your hands clean by washing thoroughly with soap and water or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Keeps cuts and scrapes clean and covered with a bandage until healed. Pus from infected wounds can contain staph germs.

Avoid contact with other people’s wounds or bandages.

Don’t stop taking a medication prescribed by your doctor even if your infection is healed. Complete the course of antibiotics.

Avoid sharing personal items such as combs, towels, razors and uniforms.

At a gym or health club, keep a barrier such as a towel or clothing between your skin and shared equipment, and wipe the surfaces of equipment before and after use.

Don’t use gym equipment if you have an open sore.

    Shower after physical activity.

Clean sporting equipment with hot water after each use.

Don’t use a soiled towel after bathing, showering, or washing your hands.

Contact your doctor if you think you may have a skin infection.
