He is currently in a school that actually fell below Minnesota standards. He did exceptionally well in Math and Reading on his exams. Math he got a 50 out of 51 and reading he got 42 out of 46. His school no longer has a program for gifted or smart kids because of budget reasons. My concern is keeping him challenged and keeping him grounded as well. I am willing to move him to a better school but I have no idea where to even start.

  1. How old is he? (sorry i come from the UK)

I wouldn't worry until he gets into high school- that's when the testing becomes improtant. If he is in high school, look around for schools in your area and ring them up :)

  2. Never mind how old your son is. Testing is important in all grades. It helps determine if you will be placed in advanced classes. I would look for a school which school mean is high or at least above average. Also I would look at the courses and make sure they are varied, and provide to be challenging.(Private schools have great test scores but limited classes).
