My son started peeing in his room.?

Well this is what happened one day we were on the road and there were no bathrooms anywhere, well my 3 year old decided that he needed to go to the restroom really bad and he couldn't help it so I got out of the car stood beside him so I could cover him and let him pee well my wife went into his room one day while he was quiet of course and saw him just take his little thing out and was about to pee and so I think that I have a big part of him doing that but since I was the one who let him I know that I have to find a way to make him stop doing that also he will just pull it out in public now like its all fine and dandy PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about a jar or a pot in his room?  Then he can still go where he wants, but less mess.
