son; 5 yrs old

He stepped on it by accident and quickly lifted his foot. My wife left the flat curling iron for her hair on the floor by mistake.

  1. put some Alo Vera  gel on it

  2. slap your wife..put some burn ointment on it..if it gets worse, or infected, off to the docs :P

  3. you should probably take him to the doctor..sounds bad if blisters are already on it!

  4. Aloe vera, try to buy a live Aloe vera plant for next time as well. Ice on it, of course. Do Not put butter on it, as some old home remedies insist, it captures the heat - just in case. Lightly bandage it if you have access to bandage because he will probably be walking on it. I am hoping it gets better as soon as it can

  5. that happened to me once. i stepped on a burning rock (charcoal) from the BBQ grill thing that my mom dropped. they took me too the doctors 3 days later and i was on crunches for a week. they didn't put nothing on my burn. 12 years old.

  6. Awww poor little guy!!!

Those things get really hot! and the bottom of the foot is such a sensitive spot.

Do you have any burn ointments? They sell them over the counter if you dont (they're good to have on hand. They sell them in spray cans which i find more helpful than the creams in tubes. Its less painful to spray a sprits on rather than rubbing something on the burn)...

I'd give the doctor a call anyways. If the burn is bad and not treated properly its probably possible for it to become infected. And if they want you to take him in, they'll probably be able to prescribe you some ointment.

    Good luck!!!

  7. Run it under cold water. Fast.

Keep running it under the water for at least five minutes.

    Reassess.

  8. you should probably take him to the ER so they can check it out...More than likly they will put burn cream on it and wrap it with you repeating several time a day until its healed.

  9. If he has blister is probably a 1st degree burn.  Apply neosporin to the area.  If he is having a lot of pain take him to the nearest ER to get it looked at.  But apply the antibiotic ointment and cover it.  It will take about a week to get better.  Do not pop the blisters, they will pop by themselves.  The fluid inside is sterile.  If they are extensive go to the ER.  Keep the area clean too.

  10. You should go head and take him to get it looked at. 5 year olds skin is much more fragile than ours. Yeah you can put some ointment on it but you wouldnt want to risk infection or those blisters busting. Flat Irons heat is unbelievable and can do serious damage.

  11. go to the doctor.

That is what my parents did when my younger brother stepped on a cooking grid of a grill and got third-degree burns on his foot

  12. I am guilty of doing the exact same thing.... My flat iron fell off the counter and I stepped right in between the two sides. To say the least, it burnt both sides of my foot and blistered like crazy!!!! I put burn ointment on it and made sure that I kept it very clean and wrapped. Just keep a close eye on it... if it starts to show signs on infection, take him to the doctor ASAP. Burns with infections are not something you want to mess with.
