  1. hula hoops are unisex toys if thats what your wondering... dont worry i loved them when i was growing up

  2. Sounds like a good, fun way to get in some exercise.

  3. My mom bought me a hula hoop when i was young, it didn't affect me in any way but now looking back on it, i wish she wouldn't have. I probably looked g*y.

  4. why wouldn't be improper??  it's just a hula hoop.

  5. its not like he is asking for a car

a hula hoop is a few bucks treat him for it = ]

  6. My son is three also and he has one, I don't understand why you would think that wouldn't be proper? He will love it I say go and get him one!

  7. No that's fine.  If he was 14 or something, maybe I'd be concerned.

  8. Absolutely!  They make small ones just for their size.  My daughter attended a gymboree type class and they play with them there (they have small ones for the kids and normal size for the adults).  Sure she doesn't quite get it but it's soo much fun because it's different and you can do all kinds of things with it!  I would say go for it and get one for yourself as well that way you two can have fun together!

  9. why wouldn't be proper? cause he's a boy? I think it would be totally fine to get him a hula hoop

  10. why not? they are fun to play with and they are excercise. hulahoops arent only for girls.

  11. Why wouldn't it be "proper"? It's just a toy!

And if you're worried about him "turning g*y" or anything, don't fret, it's just a toy, and nobody turns g*y. In that infernal "Alvin and the Chipmunks song" (whatever the Christmas one is, the one from the 1950s) Alvin says he wants one.

  12. hey, why not???

are you worried that hes a boy...and they cant play with hula hoops???

my mom was that way about me...except im a girl and i liked to play with dinosaurs and cars...

    haha

but yeah..get him one and let him be happy....if hes asking for makeup and nail polish...then id be worried :]

  13. Yeah its not like he will hurt himself and it'll give you a break from trying to entertain him every minute and maybe he will make some friends that want to play with it with him!

    Hope this helps!

  14. Get him one. I know they are considered mainly "girly", but you don't really want to be pushing the stereotype thing on him at 3.

My 4 year old son wanted pink croc shoes. We compromised on purple. Yes, girly, but hey . . . he's happy. In the long run, does it really matter. No.

Your son will be thrilled, thats all that matters.

  15. yes, get him one, im 14 and my mum got me one when i was 2, i loved it, and it also kept me busy, but just make sure he doesnt knock anything over :)

  16. geez i love hula hoops! get the kid a hula hoop!!!! NOW!

  17. Sure, why not?  It's not hurting anyone, and he's 3, so it doesn't matter.  If he was 13 and asking for a hula hoop, I might worry....:)

  18. yeah it is fine to get a 3 year old a hula hoop because he might play with it for a week and get bored of it but every time u let him use it  watch him

  19. sure why not, he'd have fun and its good exercise for him if he can actually do it, my son had one with his older sister and they had fun playing with it and he started playing with his sisters when he was 2 couldn't hula hoop to save his life but it sure was fun to watch him try

  20. Yeah he just wants to experiment with everything new and fun, like all lil' boys and girls do! Let him, what harm can it do? It is good exercise for him, plus it gets him outside away from under your feet, unless you meant the crisps hula hoops!!!???

  21. I think that he should earn before he gets it because that is a proper method in life that you need to get.Because he will then get use to that he will want somthing now and he will cry about it.but if he cleans hes room he will get it. ---like in work--- and not cry...

  22. i assume u dont want to give him one because ur scared he will turn g*y. however skipping is something people consider g*y and all the world class boxers and athletes do it so it cant be g*y. if he wants to hula, let him hula

  23. he might not know how to hula hoop very well but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get him one. he'll learn eventually and it's not like he'll get hurt or anything

  24. Three year olds are not really 'gender aware" at this point.  Telling him "no" because he is a boy would be ashame.  I let my kids be kids and they figure it out.  He'll probably lose interest pretty quickly like most kids (boys and girls alike)

He'll be grown up before you know it - have fun now!  You should get a hoopla hoop for yourself and you could do it together to some music - BE FUN!

  25. its completely fine

hula hoops are not just for girls

    they are unisex

and even if your son wanted to play with a doll let him go ahead and explore

  26. Are you serious?  Why wouldn't it be "proper" to get him one?  Is it a safe toy he can play with and not hurt himself with?  Yes it is.

If you are worried he will be "g*y" because he plays with a hula hoop then you need to do a bit of research on the disadvantage grown men who were raised with a "macho man" attitude have in life.

  27. personally I wouldn't get him a hula hoop.  That's something for girls.  Now is the age thy start making decision on their sexuality, and you need to steer him in the right decision.  Just tell him you'll get him something even more fun, and get him a boy toy that he really likes.

  28. A 3 year old boy is not supposed to play with the hula hoop.  Get him a real toy.

  29. SURE, ONE OF my relatives at age three played with one, and he's 100% all boy!! It wasn't his but his cousins but he played with it by either  throwing it around or jumping with it, its just a toy and its fun when u play with other kids or in the Pool with it.  If anything get him a dark blue one or a boy color, don't get a hot pink one or anything !

  30. My daughter just turned 3 and at daycare they play with hula hoops and one day, she wanted one, so we went to the dollar store and bought her one, and she loved it. At daycare they dance with it, and they put the hula hoops on the floors and they have to jump in the middle of the hula hoop. So there's a lot of things they can do with it, and all the children at daycare love playing with hula hoops !

  31. get him a hula hoop.  it's just a circular piece of plastic.
