  1. Council Tax goes type of (value of house).  If you and your husband are already paying the full council tax, i,e, neither of you are claiming reduced council for some reason then no you will not have to pay more council tax.

  2. not sure, but based on what others are saying looks like no. Sounds like council tax is a sham. Sure glad I live in Texas and dont have any of this foolishness

  3. council tax is based on house value not number of occupants make sure you take enough lodgings from him though

  4. it goes on the size of the house, the tax band that your house is in

  5. you pay full council tax on 1st two people only, any one else is a freebie

  6. No.  The council tax i worked out on the valuation of the property.

So you could have 1 or 21 living in the same house, and it wouldn't effect the amount you pay.

  7. No you won't have to pay any more council tax as there are already two of you living there. Council tax is not based on the value of your home.

The banding of your home is based on an actual or notional value of the property set by the government in 1991. Whatever your property is worth now is irrelevant. The local council where your property exists then determine the tax based on your band.

  8. NO    no council tax in ga

  9. Council tax is based on 2 people over the age  of  18 living in a dwelling. The addition of another adult will have no effect, unless you are claiming Council Tax Benefit. You will be obliged by law to inform your local council that there is another adult in the household.

  10. It depends on the price of the house, not the amount of people staying there as they're set into different council tax bands. You will however be liable for less support if you currently recieve any or may have to pay more rent, if necesarry.

  11. Council tax depends on which band the property is in.

Single occupants can apply for a 25 per cent discount, but as there are already two of you living there, your son's return will make no difference to the tax you pay.
