My son was the passenger in the car of an intoxicated (DWI)driver who hit another vehicle.?

He stayed and spoke to the police and answered their questions. What should he do next if anything? And what are the possible outcomes of this? Texas resident. Thanks

  1. Don't talk to the cops.


  2. pretty much nothing can be done to him as a passenger in the car. (unless it was his car in the first place). He's not likely to even be called as a witness since passengers in a car involved in an accident are automatically disqualified, since they would obviously be heavily biased. If he is still worried about it, he can always check with a lawyer

  3. No legal problems. But at the worst he may be a witness in future court cases if necessary.  

  4. If it was his car, he could be held responsible for letting the person drive. If it was not his car, he has nothing to worry about.  

  5. He should be thankful he walked away. Tell your son to not get  in a car with an intoxicated person next time and he won't have to be in this situation.
