  1. Don't worry the Bermuda Government establishes minimum salaries for ex pats entering the country on work permits. This is to prevent indigence, and homelessness which for the most part doesn't exist here. The Government will sooner send him packing for his home country, and then  put his firm out of business. Your son is probably being provided with free housing and transportation which are two of the biggest expenses here besides smoking and drinking, which anyone can easily live without. Food is another big expense but most people (especially Americans) can benefit by learning a lesson in portion control. Illegal drug usage and violent crime are virtually non existent as well, so don't worry your son is in good hands for the moment. I hope this puts your mind at ease.

  2. It's expensive. Especially nowadays with gas. I hope he is using a motorscooter instead of driving a big car. The price of food is fairly expensive here. It's really a haven for the wealthy more than anything. As a resident, he should do quite well with living expenses. But a tourist always spends more. There are some things you learn to live without, like milk, because it's so expensive, in Bermuda.

But Bermuda's neon blue waters and lazy way of life will make you glad you went there.

  3. it's one of the safest and beautiful islands in the Caribbean. Pack your bags and go visit Bermuda and see for your self. Don't worry Mom, be happy for him, what a wonderful experience.

Honestly, he will be fine. Relax)

  4. He should be ok. I live here in Bermuda and the Guys here are very homophobic.Lets hope he isn't Effeminate if he is g*y because they could give him a hard time

  5. It's an OK place, not great but not anywhere near bad, a rich American tourist spot.

Cost wise it's two worlds, as long as he lives in or around Ireland Island and works on the other side he'll be fine. The natives are friendly :0)
