Ok I guess his grandma is no longer a medical biller and is now field worker . She's even managed to pick up a fake mexican accent. Besides the point ...Ok .. while working in the orchard, she made my 9 yo son step on and kill mice . she told him they were bad for the orchard and he HAD TO do it . I think that was emotionally traumatizing for him . Since I cannot tell his father not to let our son visit with his mother while the father has custody , what can I do ?

  1. you may not be able to tell the father that your son can not visit his grandmother but you can tell him that you don't want your son to step

on and killing mice even it it's good or bad for the orchard, and to let your son no that he doesn't not have to do it either.  it may and may not end up being traumatizing him but either way he's 9 and killing something is the last thing kid should be learning

  2. Are you sure it was granny, and not just some illegal immigrant?

  3. Speak to his father and say we need to speak to your mum and discuss how it was way out of order to make your son stand on mice and how its traumatized him. Surely his father doesnt see standing on mice a good thing.

  4. Wow thats F*ed up. That sure would tramatize me!

I think you should first talk to the father (if you are on speaking terms) and tell him that you do not want your child being brought up that way if that don't work, tell your attorney .

  5. Mice can be damaging and I think your being a little over dramatic about it emotionally scarring him.  Hasn't he ever killed a bug or a spider.  Get over it.

  6. What a stupid w***e. I hope terrible things happen to her.

  7. Explain to your son that people are all different.  Grandma thinks it is okay to step on mice and kill them because of her experence with the orchard and the mice ruining the fruit. This can be a learning experience and the kid will move on, or you can warp him by acting all freaked out over it.  Country life is different than city life.  People in the country do not see mice like they are cute little things to be protected, they are pests and need to be dealt with.

  8. First of all, you're probably taking it harder than your son, and secondly, most boys like doing things like that.  I'm not saying what she did wasn't wrong, but ya know, chill.

  9. Tell your boy to man up, they are mice.  Boys should be hunting and killing things by the time they are 7.  Don't know what is up with the whole fake mexican accent or if she is even all there in the head, but to call this an emotionally traumatizing experience, I mean really, he is a boy after all.  Stomping them out is a little extreme, but again, they are mice.

  10. Buy him a pellet gun.... they're easier to shoot than stomp.

  11. e-mail her all the answers your getting here(or to ex)and maybe she'll realize how UTTERLY sick that is!!

  12. send a note with your son,to his grandmother saying he is not to step on anymore mice

or,tell your sons father about it and have him talk to his mother
