  1. Anything that is lean like pork or chicken. Stay away from heavy foods but he needs things high in calories because he will be burning a lot training before and while he is boxing.

  2. If they guy is going into the ring, a high protein and medium carb diet is in order.  However, AFTER the fight, the diet is in fact more important than before the fight if he wants to continue his boxing career.  When my cousin boxed, he would have a good diet of steak and ribs with all the veggies and cornbread before the fight.

The day after the fight and he sobered up, a chiropractic visit was done to readjust his whole frame to get it all back in alignment.  Then a lot of vitamin and mineral supplements with more protein was eaten.

The guy did good and was smart enough not to sign with Don King.  He won some local fights, did a few octagon fights and now is a personal trainer at a local gym doing some Golden Gloves coaching.

  3. To snack Beef jerky wood be your best bet.

The day of the fight a nice big steak is always good

  4. I use to do martial arts events and then got into body building and running.

As a professional athlete, ask him what he wants and needs as a dietary meal before a match.

Usually before a match i would work on reducing body fat. He will more then likely be working out at a nearby gym before the event and will be running and sparing at the gym about 3-4 hours a day.

Rest, relaxation and easy time away from the gym is what will be beneficial to him.

Working out and running can work on a body, so High protein carb foods is what he will be eating.

Again call him and ask him what do you eat that i can make your stay more enjoyable and in keeping with how you need to eat SON.

  5. Carbs are good foods with lean proteins. Fresh fruit is good to snack on.

I box and I avoid dairy and fat  on my boxing days.

  6. any carbs or fiber he can get from fresh fruits and vegetables. Nothing made from white flour and no refined sugar. Only lean meats such as chicken and some cuts of beef. Best type of meat to get is free range animals that were raised organically. As for the night of I would suggest a steak, with a salad, and another vegetable. For the morning of the fight i would suggest a small portion of eggs, a large bowl of steal cut oatmeal, a banana, raisin, spoonful of peanut butter, and a glass of orange juice. If there is a long weight before the fight he should eat fruit, protein bars, and water

  7. food for his soul.

try to build up his confidence, make him aspire for the best......yet assure him that no matter what the outcome is, you're always there for him - family stuff.

  8. pasta and protein
